Almost a month has passed since the inaugural Micklegate Run SoapBox Challenge and what a successful day it was. It has been estimated that 15,000 people attended throughout the day. It is hoped that the perception of Micklegate will begin to change as people realise that there is more to the street than just the pubs and clubs.
We need to convince people on a daily basis that on leaving the Station they should turn right and enter the City through Micklegate Bar. It is a far more scenic and pleasant walk into town than the other, more industrialised, routes that most commuters tend to use.
See you soon.
